This is a difficult medium. Realistically, how do
you describe who, what, or or even where you are in the World within
the microscopic confines of an average web user's attention span.
That aside, how do you effectively (and positively) describe yourself
without sounding pretentious, arrogant or even...fantastical? I've
never quite understood that about autobiographers. Aren't they the
very people who know all of their real faults--the faults
that they spend a lifetime trying to disguise in their everyday
lives? Perhaps that's why so many of them are ghost-written.
Look at me, for example (not that I'm an autobiographer
by any means). If I were writing a book, I would never admit that
I have an appalling singing voice or that I occasionally experience
particularly foul gas when I eat too much cheese. Then again, there's
something seductive about the anonymity of the Internet that allows
one to feel comfortable about revealing such things to the digitally-savvy
masses. Ironically, that theory doesn't seem to hold up well when
you create a website with your own name...dot com. Oops!
Pretentious or not, this is a site that shows a glimpse
of me. Not the whole story, just a glimpse. Of course, if you're
here, you probably already have most of the story anyway. If you
don't, then here's my email address: lowenicholas@hotmail.com
